As you may or may not have known, I was running an exhaust setup that consisted of FRPP shorty headers, Pypes off road h-pipe, Vibrant resonnators, and FRPP Stingers. I've been running this setup for a while now and it came to a point that I needed a change. I was browsing on YouTube and came across a guy who was running a high flow catted x pipe and FRPP Stingers and it sounded great. Nice low rumble and no trumpeting when he got on it. So one day, I dug out my off road x pipe out of my storage and cleaned all the dust and spider webs off it. I then went down to my local auto parts store and ordered a pair of Magnaflow High Flow Cats. These took about a week to ship when they finally arrived. I then took these along with my x pipe to my local muffler shop where I have had previous work done on all my Mustangs that I have owned. I told them what I needed done and left my car with them for the afternoon. When the work was done, I picked it up, paid for the labor and time it took to complete, fired up the Stang, and my eyes opened wide and my mouth opened with awe. The sound was deep and throaty and no trumpeting. This was the sound I was looking for that took me 2 years and $1500 in different exhaust setups to find. Here is a sound/video clip of how it sounds.

Steeda High Flow Inlet Tube

On Friday, January 12/2007 I purchased the Steeda High Flow Inlet Tube for my Steeda CAI. This piece replaces the stock air hose which was too long and constricted air flow. Not only does this tube look great, it also adds an extra 8rwhp and 8ftlbs of torque. Here's the info from Steeda on this tube. "This high quality plastic inlet elbow allows for colder air induction system temperatures resulting in less heat soak and lower air charge temperatures than competitive brands using metal tubes. Took it for a test run and to my shock and surprise, what a difference compared to the canned tune from DiabloSport. This new tune just wakes the car up and the throtle lag is gone. Even with traction control on, I can still spin the tires in 1st and 2nd and get a nice chirp in 3rd. The car just pulls throughout the RPM band. This has got to be the best mod I have ever added to my GT. I just don't know why it took me so long to do it. Now I have to wait till spring to take it to Mission Raceway to check out my ET's. Stay tuned for the results.

Custom Tune for the DiabloSport Predator

Well, after a four month hibernation, I took the plunge and purchased a new DiabloSport Predator 93 Race tune from Bamachips on December 13, 2006 and arrived via email a couple of days later. Here is the info on this tune from Doug at Bamachips. "BamaChips newest Race tune will further enhance the driveability of your new Mustang. Using the highest grade of fuel available in your area, I can write a tune that will bring the throttle responce to life. Enough so that I wouldn't recommend it for daily driving use as it may try to jump out from a stop and possibly even spin the tires. This wouldn't be good if you were beside a police car.One of the true benefits of this tune is that it doesn't increase the timing or reduce the fuel so it can be used with only the premium grade fuel available in your area. Finally with the automatics I use an entirly new shifting curve and torque converter scheduling to further enhance the all out performance of the car.I can make this tune for most any list of mods except for forced induction, I can make a tune for you guys as well but you would have to come to me for this as I don't do tuning via email for that." Since it's now winter season, I un-installed my Steeda CAI and also installed my stock rims and tires. Good thing too, we had a load of snow dump on us in November. I didn't want to drive around the snow with my aftermarket rims and take a chance in damaging them. When the weather gets better, (Spring) I'll re-install my CAI, wheels & tires and the tune to feel if there's a difference between the canned Predator tune and Bamachips tune. Stay tuned.

1st Place

On Sunday, August 20/2006, my Mustang club (G.V.M.A.) put on their 24th Annual All Pony Round-Up at Willowbrook Mall in Langley, B.C. I, once again, was thinking that I don't think I have a chance, when suddenly the President of the club announced, "And the 1st place trophy goes to a silver.....". It was a awesome feeling of rejoice and relief that I broke my string of winning absolutely nothing all year. This trophy was the one that I really wanted the most since it was the biggest show of the year.

Exhaust Resonators Installed

Took the car to the local muffler shop to see how much it would cost to install a pair of resonators. Turned out it was cheaper than I thought. Would cost me only $50. I went to Lordco parts where a buddy of mine works, and he hooked me up with a pair of 2.5" Vibrant resonators. Took them back to the muffler shop, and welded them in. Here are before and after video clips of my exhaust.

Before Resonators:

After Resonators:

I know the first video clip sounds a bit louder and deeper, but the "trumpeting" still exists around the the 2500 RPM range. After installing the Vibrant Resonators, they did quiet the exhaust note a couple of desibles, but the "trumpeting" is gone. I recently had my Mustang in a local Mustang show and had quite a few compliments on the sound of my car. Now, I just want to clean up the cat-back pipes since they were hacked up from a previous installation of resonators with a different axle back that didn't sound good. I'll do this by purchasing a used pair of cat-back pipes from a local Mustang parts outlet.

Photo Album #1

I haven't raced her since I purchased her back in April of 2005. If I remember right, she ran a 14.2 @ 100 mph. Now, with all the mods I have done to this day, I decided it was time to run her again. It was a beautiful summer evening, with a track temp of 24 degrees. My first run wasn't too bad. Here are the numbers on the time slip.

R/T .493
60' 2.149
330' 5.885
1/8 8.911
MPH 81.30
1000' 11.502
1/4 13.678
MPH 103.84

My reaction times always sucked. And as a result, I can't seem to get a good 1/4 mile ET. Traction too was a problem for me. With stock street tires, I couldn't seem to hook up. And as a result, that too slowed my ET time. I improved on my second pass, but not too much to brag about.

R/T .513
60' 2.173
330' 5.849
1/8 8.896
MPH 79.52
1000' 11.640
1/4 13.640
MPH 130.74

It seems that my runs are pretty consistant and without a set of Mickey Thompson ET Street drag tires and a quicker R/T, looks like this is what Roxy can do for now. I'll be setting up an appointment for the use of a dyno to get a custom tune done for the car which will be uploaded into my DiabloSport Predator tuner. This will be performed by Wayne Johnson of Brown Bros. Ford in Vancouver. We'll see what Roxy will run after the tune. I'm expecting a considerable difference in performance just with the tune alone. She was purchased back in April of 2005 from Brown Bros. Ford in Vancouver, B.C. All the eye candy you see from the picture was not on the car when she was purchased. It was completely stock. A lot of time, money and patience went into Roxy to the beautiful machine she is today. Unfortunately, I lost a majority of photos that have been taken over the past 16 months I had her. My purpose of this blog is to archive all the write-ups of the work that I have put into this car, pictures that I have taken, as well as local car shows that I have entered.

Interior, Exterior, and Performance Modifications

Here is a list of current mods on Roxy.

Steeda CAI with High Flow Inlet Tube

Bamachips' 93 Race Tune for Diablosport Predator
FRPP Shorty Headers
UPR Products Off Road X Pipe fabricated with Magnaflow High Flow Cats
FRPP Borla/Stingers

Canuck Motorsport Springs
Hurst Competition Shifter
Adjustable Pan Hard Bar
Midwest Autogear Plenum Cover
Black matte vinyl stripes with G.T.350R side stripes
Cervini's Duck Tail Spoiler
Cervini's Quarter Window Scoops
Antenna-X 15" Shorty Antenna
Black Niche F-18's (8.5" x 19" Front, 10" x 19" Rear)
BFG's G-Force KDW (245/40/ZR19 Front, 295/35/ZR19 Rear)
